Halong Bay natural wonder (Vịnh Hạ Long) located in the North in Quang Ninh Province of Vietnam and must-visit travel destination. Halong Bay is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, offers thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes. Halong Bay includes Bai Tu Long Bay to the northeast, and Cat Ba Island to the southwest. Designated a Unesco world heritage site more than 20 years ago, the Halong Bay natural wonder is one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist attractions.

It is only recently though, that a small number of cruise boats have ventured further east into the Gulf of Tonkin, to the outer rocky flanks of Bai Tu Long. The legend says the dragon, sent by the Jade Emperor, descended from heaven into the sea. The towering outcrops of Halong Bay are a spot where the dragon descends to the sea and sprayed a thousand pearls from its mouth. From these cascading pearls, the 1,600 shaggy limestone stacks of Halong Bay emerged, a huge curvature of jumbled karst fortress designed to protect Vietnam from invaders in the Gulf of Tonkin.

Halong Bay has 4 different seasons and therefore available for a visit almost at any time throughout the year. The climate in the north limits the safe time for a Vietnam beach holiday to the height of summer. However, Halong Bay is such a stunning place that it attracts tourists all year round. If the sun shines, you can lie on a beach if you like though there is so much else to see and do. Bai Chay beach is probably the best beach option for those heading east from Hanoi. The town of Bai Chay, along with Hong Gai, together are officially referred to as Halong City. Beach is huge and best for those who like to relax & enjoy the views. In July and August is a season for typhoons.

Hoi An ancient town

Hoi An Ancient Town is UNESCO heritage site, since 1990. Located in Vietnam, in the province of Quang Nam, only 30 km from Danang. Hoi An was known as a cargo harbor from the 15th to 19th century. Although the port of Hoi An was officially founded by Lord Nguyen in 1595, these areas have previously been inhabited at least 2200 years ago. Hoi An Ancient Town (會安) translates as "peaceful meeting place". In English and other European languages, the town was known historically as Faifo. This word is derived from Vietnamese Hội An phố (the town of Hội An), which was shortened to "Hoi-pho", and then to "Faifo". Originally, Hai Pho was a divided town with the Japanese settlement across the "Japanese Bridge" (16th-17th century). The bridge (Chùa cầu) is a unique covered structure built by the Japanese, the only known covered bridge with a Buddhist temple attached to one side. Hoi An port loses its shine when the European shipbuilding evolved and they were able to get into the Danang Bay by large merchant ships. Moreover, the Danang became the main port for trade in central Vietnam. Large merchant ships arrived from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, United Kingdom and from America. The first Christian missionaries also visited the Hoi An, which made Hoi An the first city in Vietnam, that encountered Christianity.

The Hue Imperial city is 100 km from Danang (Da Nang, Đà Nẵng), the third largest city in Vietnam, located on the shores of the Chinese coast between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with approximately 800 km from both cities. HUE HISTORY In 1802 Emperor Gia Long founded Nguyen Dynasty and changed Hanoi to Hue. His idea was to reunification North and South Vietnam and he began the construction of the Hue Citadel. The Hue flourished where the rulers tried to fight for the increasing influence of France at any cost. In the year 1885 the French forces responded to an attack of North Vietnam and attacked the Hue Citadel, they burning down the royal library, and collected all precious from citadel. The royal goverment remained in Hue, but they was no longer invited to events of national importance and to various holidays. During the 1968 all world attention was again given to Hue. Although the Americans focused exclusively on protecting the Khe Sanh military base, the North Vietnamese and Viet-Kong troops captured Hue. It was a main news theme in the press all over the world. During the three-and-a-half week period when North Vietnam controlled the citadel, more than 2,500 people were killed (eg, soldiers, wealthy merchants, government employees, monks, priests and other intellectuals). They named them lackeys, who have a blood debt. The United States and South Vietnam responded by sweeping all the neighboring quarters from the ground completely, where they also used a napalm bomb. About 10,000 people were killed in Hue city, including thousands of Viet-kong soliders, 400 South Vietnamese soldiers, 150 US Marines and the rest were civilians.
