HAI PHONG TOURISM – After the sea-crossing bridge of Tan Vu – Lach Huyen opened on September 2, 2017, tourist arrivals in Cat Ba island district of northern Hai Phong city surged by 150 percent year on year from then to May 2018. In the first half of this year, Cat Ba Island welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors. Holidaymakers arrived even in the winter, said Vu Tien Lap – head of the culture, sports and tourism division of Cat Hai district. This sharp rise was partly attributed to the considerable improvement in local infrastructure, which also saw the opening of Cat Bi International Airport and Ha Noi – Hai Phong Expressway in recent years. With tourism considered a key economic sector, the city has been working to attract big investors to develop tourism facilities.

At a recent meeting of municipal officials, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party’s Committee Le Van Thanh reiterated the necessity of building infrastructure serving tourism development. He noted that the city hopes to attract 7.5 million tourists by 2020. This figure rose from 5.96 million in 2016 to 6.71 million in 2017. It reached 3.41 million between January and June and is expected to hit 7.79 million this year.

Major developers like SunGroup, Vingroup and Flamingo have been building five-star hotels and other tourism facilities in Cat Ba and other places in the city. In 2019, SunGroup plans complete a 5.1km-long cable system from Cat Hai town to Phu Long commune and carry out a tourism project in Cat Ba. The city sees beautiful landscapes, world-class tourism facilities and modern infrastructure as key to luring vacationers. Meanwhile, ensuring security and safety for tourists and service to their satisfaction will persuade them to return to Hai Phong.

Local tourism has also benefited from the city’s investment attraction policy, which has resulted in a big number of foreign workers arriving. About 2,000 experts have come to build automobile and mobile phone factories in Cat Hai. Many others from Japan, the Republic of Korea, the US and Europe have also stayed here to work on other investment projects. In its development plans, the tourism sector of Hai Phong hopes to increase coordination with relevant agencies to improve tourism quality. It will also try to attract investors to make the city a key tourism destination of Vietnam. SOURCE: VNA

Golden bridge Danang

GOLDEN BRIDGE DANANG. Golden Bridge nestled in Ba Na Hill 1,400 meters (nearly 4,600 feet) above sea level over a 150-meter (nearly 500 feet) deep valley,

The “Golden Bridge Danang” has become a new key search word on the Internet. Since it’s opening in June, Golden Bridge in the central coastal city of Danang has been attracting a lot of attention and has been receiving many compliments through social network channels and international media.

Nestled in Ba Na Hill 1,400 meters (nearly 4,600 feet) above sea level over a 150-meter (nearly 500 feet) deep valley, the bridge looks as if it’s supported by two giant hands. It’s located in the Truong Son mountain range.

The hands look like they are carved from stone, but they actually aren’t. The skeleton of the hands was designed and covered with steel meshes before it was finished with fiberglass.

The entire construction of the bridge took about a year. The bridge snakes through a forest high up in mountains which were first developed by French colonists as a hill station in 1919. It’s now become a tourist attraction.

The bridge looks like the giant hands of gods pulling a strip of gold out of the land, according to Reuters. To AFP, it’s like a stroll on a shimmering thread stretching across the hands of gods. AFP also said that images of the bridge have gone viral on social media, much to the surprise of the architect who had no idea it would attract so much attention.

The bridge was considered by Archdaily as one of the world’s most unique bridges. Archdaily is one of the world’s leading architectural news sites. The bridge also got compliments from other architectural sites such as Design Boom and Creapills.

It was also featured on the Instagram account of Street Art Globe which has 7.1 million followers. Its video on Street Art Globe had 1.3 million views and more than 4,000 comments. The design company of the bridge, TA Landscape Architecture, also revealed that they were working on a silver bridge that will be made to look like a god’s strand of hair that’s connected to the Golden Bridge.

Last year, Golden Bridge Danang welcomed more than 6.6 million visitors, including 2.3 million foreign ones, which is an increase of 19 percent and 39 percent, respectively.

Ho Chi Minh City – Saigon

Vietnam is an excellent destination with the two main metropolia are Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Vietnam capital Hanoi. The main district of Ho Chi Minh City, where tourists living are the old Saigon or district 1 (D1) which lies on 7.7 km². The Ho Chi Minh City - Tan Son Nhat Airport is only 8 kilometers north of District 1, a 30 minutes ride away from Saigon center. Lots of tourists and entrepreneurs live in the Saigon district 1 of this strategic location, where located main government agencies, embassies, hotels, as well as Saigon have many entertainment and recreational facilities such as shopping malls, cinema, bars, restaurants, etc. Thanks to the above, Saigon is called a city that never really sleeps. Business spaces on the street are divided among a number of people who offer different services, at different times of the day, both at night and in the day. Saigon can be found expats all over the world, making Saigon an ideal place to create new acquaintances and Saigon is probably the most realistic place for this. Pham Ngu Lao Street has the highest concentration of English speakers and, of course, prices in Saigon are more crispy than other Ho Chi Minh city districts.

HO CHI MINH CITY - SAIGON

Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon is the largest and busiest city in southern Vietnam. It is also called the economic capital of the country and home for 10 million people. The city lies on the banks of the Saigon River, 19 meters above sea level, with an area of 2,095 km². Through the city passes the Saigon River and therefore boats and ships are an important form of transportation. From Saigon, you can easily reach the Mekong Delta and to the coastal beach resorts, Vung Tau and Mui Ne.

An excellent tourist destination Saigon is full of contrast between tradition and modernity, poverty and wealth. Many buildings, especially in the center, were built during the colonial period. The city offers many historical sights, delicious food, and is an excellent shopping spot. It’s no surprise that Saigon exudes youthful, and inventive energy. This dynamic spirit shines through in quirky cafes, innovative cuisine, and boutiques. And when you need a breather from all that’s new and fabulous, it’s easy to find quiet moments in crumbling colonial buildings, museums, and art galleries, for instance.

Besides, the Ho Chi Minh city received its current name only in 1976. Saigon was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam, from 1955–75. On July 2, 1976, upon the formal establishment of the modern-day the new government renamed the city to Thanh pho Ho Chi Minh. It is noteworthy that the new name of the city is used only for official purposes, and the indigenous people still continue to call it Saigon.

CLIMATE

The city has a tropical climate, specifically a tropical savanna climate, with an average humidity of 78–82%. The year is divided into two distinct seasons. Raining season starts from May to November and the dry season from December to April. The average annual temperature is 28 °.

NUOC MOOC STREAM. Nestled under evergreen forests, its limestone ranges covered with jungle, Nuoc Mooc stream resembles a glittering green silk scarf, bringing a charming beauty to Quang Binh mountain and forest. Located relatively close to other famous landscapes in Quang Binh province, such as Thien Duong cave, Chay River, and Toi (Dark) cave, Nuoc Mooc stream remains preserved almost intact with wild beauty. From Dong Hoi City (Quang Binh Province), following the eastern branch of Ho Chi Minh Road roughly 60km to the north, visitors will meet the Khe Gat Junction. From here, turning onto the western branch of Ho Chi Minh Road for about 5km, visitors will arrive at Mooc Stream, which is like a fairyland and an ideal stopover after exploring the cave during hot summer days.

The stream is a clean and natural blue water source erupting from the mountain foot to form a 90m² lake which then flows into Chay River. It is a unique and amazing natural phenomenon. This cool stream runs through mountains and forests with average temperatures from 16 to 18°C in the summer. In the downstream, there are countless reefs and waterfalls. On the stream bed, there are large rocks and pebbles.

Realizing the diversified tourism potential in Mooc Stream Area, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park Management Board invested in constructing Mooc StreamTourist Area with many interesting items. In the tourist area, visitors can saunter on wooden bridges linking the two stream’s banks to admire the spectacular beauty of the mountains and forests and it is also the ideal place for visitors to swim, kayak, or participate in the games of high diving and ziplines.

In particular, visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy rural dishes such as grilled eel, grilled chicken, wild vegetables, etc., in the “birds-nest” shaped restaurants hung on the old trees. These restaurants are built out of environmentally friendly materials such as bamboo, palm trees, etc.
