Built by the French in the 1950s, with a height of more than 200 meters above the sea level, Son Tra lighthouse is one of the most beautiful lighthouses in Vietnam.

In the midst of white clouds, green plants, and blue sea, the lighthouse stands superbly and majestically, braving tough sea waves and strong mountain winds. From the lighthouse, tourists can have a good overview of a vast area below, enjoy fresh air, cool winds from the sea and feel the fragrance of the nearby forest. Decorated with rustic blue wooden windows and rose-mallow, the lighthouse looks fanciful, mysterious and sparkling on an early foggy morning.

The difference between Son Tra lighthouse and other famous resorts in Sapa, Dalat is that tourists can feel the coolness of the mountain wind and feel the salty air of the East Sea. In spring, millettia ichthyochtona flowers dye cliffs purple while other kinds of flowers along the path leading to the lighthouse, so tourists can feel peaceful while contemplating the whole city from a height in the mist with extreme pleasure. For those who want to be in a peaceful place, different from bustling cities, Son Tra lighthouse is an ideal place to visit.

From the time they first enter, guests can take in fresh, open spaces in blue with vaulted ceilings, inviting them to experience Vietnam the Santorini way. The resort has been reviewed as being ideal for businesspeople as well as visitors to the beautiful coastal city. It comprises 103 rooms in a range of categories. All are individually designed with guests in mind and feature a bright, clean concept with an emphasis on style and livability. Most are similar, with size being the main difference.

The Superior rooms feature a skylight bringing in natural light and are well-appointed, with an open sitting area that provides comfort, while Elite Deluxe rooms are spacious in size and luxurious in style and facilities, featuring a premium sitting area with a veranda offering beautiful views over the stunning pool or the vibrant city. Larger in size, Deluxe rooms have an astonishing view over the Courtyard Pool or the city. A contemporary design along with luxurious furniture and amazing views of the stunning pool are the unique features of the Junior Suite rooms. With a separate large wardrobe and spacious premium living area, it certainly makes any stay a memorable experience. All dreams come to life in the resort’s magnificent Santorini Suite, where guest can spend romantic days and nights in the comfortable bedroom, relax in the stylish living room, dine in the premium dining area, and pamper themselves in the luxurious bathtub or shower. Many functional areas are also found at the resort. The 550-seat convention hall boasts arched ceilings, wooden floors and classic chandeliers for important events such as weddings or private or corporate events. There are two swimming pools: a central pool on the first floor and another on the fourth floor. Many guests prefer to swim in the upper pool because it is more isolated and has a nice view over the city. In particular, Kapari is located next to the swimming pool and an amazing place to sip on a cocktail or enjoy a cup of coffee under a blue sky with a cooling sea breeze.

“At Risemount Premier Resort Danang, you can barely find a spot that is not perfect,” one guest wrote on his blog. “Just move one step and you have a new photo, or move two steps and have three new photos. If I didn’t say I was in Da Nang, people would think I was abroad. The resort made me feel like I was no longer in central Vietnam, and like I’d gone half way across the world to Greece and Santorini Island.”

The Risemount Premier Resort Danang has been rated as an excellent resort on Agoda.com, with 8.6 points. Ms. Nhung said that the challenge for the resort is to continue to develop, improving its service quality in a new style: “Resort in the City”. She also believes there is a great deal of potential to develop the resort due to Danang being the most beautiful city on the central coast and with one of the longest beaches in the world. The city is looking to become a green – clean – beautiful tourist city. “With its unique design, Risemount Premier Resort Danang will be hard at work trying to develop the Risemount brand into a resort chain – restaurant – hotel managed by Vietnamese,” she added.

Transport Ministry has asked relevant authorities in Danang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai to assist in the inauguration of the highway on the National Day. The VEC also announced toll fees for using the expressway, the lowest rate is set at VND 20,000 per trip for cars with less than 12 seats, trucks with loads of less than two tons and public buses. Hoi An ancient town

Hoi An Ancient Town is UNESCO heritage site, since 1990. Located in Vietnam, in the province of Quang Nam, only 30 km from Danang. Hoi An was known as a cargo harbor from the 15th to 19th century. Although the port of Hoi An was officially founded by Lord Nguyen in 1595, these areas have previously been inhabited at least 2200 years ago. Hoi An Ancient Town (會安) translates as "peaceful meeting place". In English and other European languages, the town was known historically as Faifo. This word is derived from Vietnamese Hội An phố (the town of Hội An), which was shortened to "Hoi-pho", and then to "Faifo". Originally, Hai Pho was a divided town with the Japanese settlement across the "Japanese Bridge" (16th-17th century). The bridge (Chùa cầu) is a unique covered structure built by the Japanese, the only known covered bridge with a Buddhist temple attached to one side. Hoi An port loses its shine when the European shipbuilding evolved and they were able to get into the Danang Bay by large merchant ships. Moreover, the Danang became the main port for trade in central Vietnam. Large merchant ships arrived from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, United Kingdom and from America. The first Christian missionaries also visited the Hoi An, which made Hoi An the first city in Vietnam, that encountered Christianity.

Golden bridge Danang

GOLDEN BRIDGE DANANG. Golden Bridge nestled in Ba Na Hill 1,400 meters (nearly 4,600 feet) above sea level over a 150-meter (nearly 500 feet) deep valley,

The “Golden Bridge Danang” has become a new key search word on the Internet. Since it’s opening in June, Golden Bridge in the central coastal city of Danang has been attracting a lot of attention and has been receiving many compliments through social network channels and international media.

Nestled in Ba Na Hill 1,400 meters (nearly 4,600 feet) above sea level over a 150-meter (nearly 500 feet) deep valley, the bridge looks as if it’s supported by two giant hands. It’s located in the Truong Son mountain range.

The hands look like they are carved from stone, but they actually aren’t. The skeleton of the hands was designed and covered with steel meshes before it was finished with fiberglass.

The entire construction of the bridge took about a year. The bridge snakes through a forest high up in mountains which were first developed by French colonists as a hill station in 1919. It’s now become a tourist attraction.

The bridge looks like the giant hands of gods pulling a strip of gold out of the land, according to Reuters. To AFP, it’s like a stroll on a shimmering thread stretching across the hands of gods. AFP also said that images of the bridge have gone viral on social media, much to the surprise of the architect who had no idea it would attract so much attention.

The bridge was considered by Archdaily as one of the world’s most unique bridges. Archdaily is one of the world’s leading architectural news sites. The bridge also got compliments from other architectural sites such as Design Boom and Creapills.

It was also featured on the Instagram account of Street Art Globe which has 7.1 million followers. Its video on Street Art Globe had 1.3 million views and more than 4,000 comments. The design company of the bridge, TA Landscape Architecture, also revealed that they were working on a silver bridge that will be made to look like a god’s strand of hair that’s connected to the Golden Bridge.

Last year, Golden Bridge Danang welcomed more than 6.6 million visitors, including 2.3 million foreign ones, which is an increase of 19 percent and 39 percent, respectively.

Lang Co town – A quiet retreat for summer escapes

The small Lang Co town in Phu Loc district, Thua Thien – Hue province is located on the root of the imposing Hai Van mountain range. Endowed with over 10km long beach sloping gently to the pure water sea to shape an arc with the long and beautiful sand, Lang Co is a quiet note for summer escape.

NDO – The small Lang Co town in Phu Loc district, Thua Thien – Hue province is located on the root of the imposing Hai Van mountain range. Endowed with over 10km long beach sloping gently to the pure water sea to shape an arc with the long and beautiful sand, Lang Co is a quiet note for a summer escape. Lang Co possesses a distinctive charm every season of the year. In summer, Lang Co treats visitors with mild air, blue beaches, and golden sand, far different from the sweltering heat in other central places.

In autumn, the town is coated with fog and clouds. In winter, when Lang Co is less visited by holidaymakers, the beach and forest are brought back to their pristine beauty. In spring, the town is fuelled with the vitality of fishermen hauling in bumper catches on their first trips to sea in the Lunar New Year. But visiting Lang Co at any time of the year, tourists can enjoy a quiet retreat and feel the harmony between humans, sea and earth. It is said that if you haven’t visited Lap An lagoon, then you haven’t visited Lang Co yet.

The lagoon is one kilometer from the beach. With one side facing the grandiose Bach Ma mountain range and the other facing Lang Co bay, Lap An lagoon is a blend of green forest, hills and deep blue sky. On bright sunny days, the lagoon’s surface shines like a mirror reflecting the shadow of the mountains. The lagoon is at its most stunning at sunset when the sun gradually goes down behind the Bach Ma mountain range. The sunset brings a fascinating purple coat to the scenery. White storks cover the sky on their way to their shelters. Small fishing boats float on the lagoon while fishermen wait for a good haul at the end of the day.

The local fishermen are open-hearted and friendly. Most of them have lived in Lang Co town for generations and have earned their living from the abundant marine resources of the lagoon. Harvesting oysters, which are proudly dubbed as “heavenly pearl” by the locals, have brought a better life for the fishermen. The harvest and farming oysters in Lap An is rather simple. Fishermen utilize blown-out rubber tires, which are cleaned thoroughly in order to make floating oyster cultivation cages on the lagoon. The breeders collect oysters every day and sell them at the markets. The oysters have a rich, sweet and a little bit salty taste.

In the evening, when the wind calms down and blows gently, it is a perfect time to take a ride to the Hai Van mountain pass and admire the beauty of Lang Co from above. Although the road to the mountain pass is quiet, there are many sharp bends, thus the journey is not recommended for new riders. Looking from above, Lang Co bay looks like jade shining amid the forest and mountains. Its green mountains, tropical forests, smooth white sand and crystal clear waters never fail to lure visitors. It is not surprising that Lang Co was voted as one of the world’s most beautiful bays by the Worldbays Club in May 2009.

Hoi An City of lanterns

Hoi An - City of Lanterns. Laterns festival

HOI AN CITY OF LANTERNS. Hoi An is a city in Viet Nam about 30km to the south of Danang. The Old Town of Hoi An is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was a typical trading port in Southeast Asia from the 15th to the 19th century. Indeed, thanks to its favorable location, Chinese and Japanese settlement, Hoi An became a busy trading port. Moreover, the handicraft villages such as lanterns, carpentry, pottery, vegetables… also created the busy trading port of Hoi An.

In particular, Hoi An is considered as the cradle of pure Vietnamese lanterns. Anyone who has ever been to Hoi An cannot forget its nostalgic beauty. Walking through the old quarter, you will immerse yourself in typical buildings of the Old Town of Hoi An of the 18th and 19th centuries with wooden houses, mossy walls and street vendors. Throughout the streets, you can see beautiful lanterns in different shapes in every restaurant, shops, hotels… Definitely, Hoi An cannot be completely beautiful without lanterns. The harmony of lanterns’ colors, the authenticity and the tranquility of the city make us fall in love with Hoi An.

Furthermore, contemplating lanterns in Hoi An is really interesting. Indeed, at every moment, they all have their own beauty. We can see all delicacy, creativity and talent of artisans by looking at these lanterns in the morning with all their details. When night comes, lanterns are bright and full of magic colors. It is lanterns that bring to Hoi An the poetic nocturnal beauty.

Actually, lanterns appeared in the late 16th century when the first Chinese came to settle. They hung the lamp to deal with the feeling of nostalgia. According to the local population, the craftsman Huynh Van Ba was the first one who studied, created and integrated the cultural characteristics of Vietnam into traditional lanterns. The process of making a lantern is a meticulous work that requires many skills of artisans. The main materials used are bamboo and silk which are familiar images in Vietnamese people’s life.

At first, the upper class in society was the only one who could have big lanterns decorated with Chinese characters or paintings hanging at home. Gradually, lanterns became popular for the middle class in the form of home decor by retaining its beauty, luxury and inherent charm.

Nowadays, lanterns come in various shapes, sizes as well as methods of construction. They can be spherical lanterns, pumpkin-shaped lanterns or rotating lanterns. Each shape and color of the lantern has a different meaning. For example, the rounds symbolize harmony and balance. This is a typical shape of lantern in Hoi An. According to folklore, a lantern hanging in the house is the symbol bringing more warmth, peace and luck to the home. If you have the chance to visit Viet Nam, you should not miss Hoi An and the contemplation of lanterns. Source: vietnamtourism.com
