The Tacu mountain lies 30 km west of Phan Thiet city and is famous for its statue of the reclining Gautama Buddha. The statue is 49 meters in length and is the largest reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia. To reach the top you have few options, whether you climb by foot up to 2 hours or use an aerial tram which is a faster and more comfortable option. The statue itself stays in the jungle, on the top of the mountain, and after the tram should be made an additional 300 steps. Moreover, at the top on the height of 563 meters situated two pagodas: the Upper Pagoda and the Lower Pagoda. In 1870 was built the first Pagoda, after that second and Buddha statue in 1958, as well as three additional smaller Buddha statues. To sum up, the Tacu mountain reclining Buddha is a spiritual place for Buddhists and pilgrims. Mountain has the most beautiful breathtaking views and thoroughly enjoyable experience for every visitor.
