Other airlines like Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific, Bamboo Airways and Vietnam Air Services Company (Vasco) will only operate at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) on June 2 signed a contract with a joint venture comprising firms from Japan, France and Vietnam (JFV), for consultancy services and a feasibility study for the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport project.
The ACV is preparing for the construction of the airport to begin at the end of 2020 and will be completed and put into use in 2025 at the latest. The proposed Long Thanh International Airport has a total area of more than 5,580 hectares in Long Thanh District, the southern province of Dong Nai.
It is set to have total investment of VND 336.63 trillion (USD 14.8 billion). Long Thanh Airport construction divided into 3 phases.

In the second phase:
In the second phase (by 2035), one more runway and another passenger terminal will be constructed to serve 50 million passengers and 1.5 million tons of cargo a year.
After the third phase:
After the third phase expansion (post 2035), the airport is hoped to be able serve 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo each year.
