The FLC Group’s FLC Halong Ecotourism Resort officially opened on December 15 with total investment of nearly VND10 trillion ($429 million). On an area of nearly 200 ha, the FLC Halong Ecotourism resort includes more than 30 items of international standard, with 649 hotel rooms accommodating more than 1,500 guests, more than 300 European-style villas, an international convention center, a golf course and club house, and an infinity pool. This is another project FLC has built on difficult terrain, such as the marshes of Sam Son and sand in Quy Nhon and Quang Binh.

The challenge at FLC Halong Ecotourism resort has been building on steep hills with underground rocks and coal seams. Staff have had to think of construction solutions and measures to protect against erosion and minimize the project’s impact on nearby communities.

Quang Ninh has welcomed more than 10 million visitors this year, including more than 5 million foreign guests. A range of infrastructure has been built in recent times, such as Van Don International Airport, Ha Long International Passenger Terminal, and the Ha Long – Van Don Expressway, creating a driving force for economic development in Vietnam’s north.
