Bamboo airways has made its first flight

BAMBOO AIRWAYS HAS MADE ITS FIRST FLIGHT.

Many passengers on board the first commercial flight of Bamboo Airways has made its first flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi at 6 am, January 16th, 2019. Bamboo Airways received a license to transport passengers, mail, and freight following national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, budget operators Jetstar Pacific and Vietjet Air, and Vietnam Air Service (VASCO).

The Bamboo Airways as a hybrid airline, blending low-cost traits with those of traditional or full-service carriers to meet the demands of every market segment. Besides, the airline started selling tickets from 12 pm on January 12, with minimum prices at VND 149,000 (USD 6.4) each.

As planned, the national flag carrier will operate 37 routes connecting major cities and tourist destinations at home and abroad in 2019. The first domestic routes will be Hanoi – Quy Nhon, Hanoi – Dong Hoi, Ho Chi Minh City-Quy Nhon, Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City, and Ho Chi Minh City – Van Don. Up to 60 domestic flights per day are planned.

Flights to Asian countries such as Japan, the Republic of Korea and Singapore, and Europe will use wide-body aircraft.

It has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Civil Authority of Vietnam on using landing services and security checks at Tan Son Nhat (HCM City), Noi Bai (Hanoi), Phu Cat (Quy Nhon), Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), and Cat Bi (Hai Phong).

HCMC Airport overloaded during Tet Holiday. HCM City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport is expected to handle more than four million passengers in the month during TET, the Lunar New Year, which falls on February 5 this year.

The Tan Son Nhat Customs Bureau has launched a program to welcome passengers, especially overseas Vietnamese coming home at the start of the Year of the Pig.

According to the Customs Bureau, Tan Son Nhat Airport will serve an average of 134,200 passengers a day during the month. Deputy Chief of the Tan Son Nhat Airport Authority, said the airport would provide services to passengers on 890 flights on the 28th of the last lunar month (February 2) and 900 flights on the 6th of the first lunar month (February 10).

Besides, the number of flights to and from Tan Son Nhat Airport is expected to increase by around 10 per cent from last year to 806-820. Vietnam Airlines will fly an additional 1,956 flights and carry around 650,000 domestic passengers, up 40 per cent from normal days. Vietjet will add more than 1,000 flights, while Jetstar Pacific will add 1,014 flights.

The busiest routes will be to Hanoi Hai Phong, Vinh, Hue, Danang, and Phu Quoc.
